The Situation Biography

It all started when the last band decided to call it a day due to a band member being a jerk (way too many times to be tolerable)!

Jon and Lee were members of the aforementioned band and decided that it was time to start thinking about venturing into another musical escapade of which they could be truly happy.

Peter was contacted to fulfil the bass playing role as Jon had known Peter for thousands of years and felt confident that this would be his “thing”.

Finally, Jon’s younger brother, Stuart, was also looking to join a band as a bugle player but took little persuasion to pick up a guitar and learn it pretty damn quick as there wasn’t much call for a bugle player locally.

Let me introduce the band;

Jon Davies - Guitars, main vocals.

Jon has a fetish for all types of guitars so it was only fair that he gets to play one whilst making the best noise he can vocally.

Jon’s musical history is quite a tale but to be brief, he’s been around the block a bit having played guitar for bands such as; Barker (1990’s), Soundstorm (2000’s), Reece (2016 - 2018), The LOST AND FOUND (2016 - present day) as well as being the occasional dep for other local artists and solo acts requiring a guitarist/Backing vocalist.

Jon is currently the main songwriter and also produces the bands recordings.

Peter Quinlan - Bass guitar, backing vocals

Peters love for the bass drives everyone nuts! he has one for every occasion (weddings, birthday parties, you name it). He even had one made for him by some guy who works for the mafia (that’s what i’m told anyway).

Peter’s musical history spans more years than Jon’s owing to the fact that he has been nearly 7ft tall since birth and was playing from such an early age everyone thought he was old enough to play the pubs… so he did!

He plays regularly on the covers band circuit so is quite adept to performing live.

Lee Nicholas - Drums, programming.

More dedicated to keeping time than Big Ben! as a matter of fact, it’s not unknown for Lee to be contacted by Rolex to ensure their time pieces are functioning correctly! (honest)..He’s known in some circles as “Father time”.

He owns most of the drums ever produced but his sticks are made from the local woods where you’ll find him most Sundays whittling away on some oak tree branch until he’s got some thin logs he can hit his kit with!

His musical history spans many years and he has been the backbone to many bands such as; The Boot freaks (1990’s), Big Mac’s wholly soul band (2000’s), Also Eden (2010), Reece (2018), The LOST AND FOUND (2022 - present day).

Stuart Davies - Guitars.

Stuart thought bugle playing was cool until he heard a guitar for the first time in 2021… he hasn’t looked back! He loves guitar more than beer apparently and spends every waking hour practicing how to look cool in the mirror with a guitar draped over his shoulder. Much to the annoyance of everyone in the guitar shop!

His musical history spans since before time began which is probably the reason why there’s no paper trail to his experience, however, Jon said he’s cool so he must be!

The Situation formed with one thing in mind, to make music that they consider to be enjoyable to all, described as an easy listening, pop rock, funk edge genre with a slightly progressive twist.

The latest studio recordings have produced a five track EP that should be available by the time you read this and is simply titled “The Situation EP”.

The single “Everybody lies” is also on the EP.
